Man charged after assault in Sittingbourne High Street

A 34-year-old has been charged following an assault in a town centre.

Officers received a report that a man had been assaulted in Sittingbourne High Street at around 3.20pm on Monday (May 29).

A spokesman from the police said that the victim sustained facial injuries during the incident.

Following enquiries, Darren Mills, of Sheppey Way, Bobbing, was charged with grievous bodily harm without intent.

Mills appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday where he was remanded in custody.

He is now due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court next Friday (June 9).
