A man has been charged with robbery, false imprisonment and firearms offences after a raid on a Sittingbourne supermarket.

Stephen Dalligan, 48, of Catelock Way, Greenwich, will appear before Folkestone magistrates this morning and is also charged with an offence of concealing criminal property under the Proceeds of Crime Act.

He was arrested on Saturday evening at an address in London, along with a woman, who has been released on bail.

On May 13, a man entered the cash machine area of the ASDA supermarket, Mill Way, and demanded money from two security guards.

Police have since recovered a large sum of cash.
