A group of travellers has moved on land in Milton Regis.

They have set up camp on a private piece of land in Saffron Way, near Milton Creek Country Park and Asda on Mill Way.

About nine caravans are thought to be among those who have moved onto the site.

If unauthorised encampments are on private land it is primarily the landowners’ responsibility to deal with the issue.

However, the county and borough councils can provide advice and help if asked to do so.

It is understood the group moved over on Sunday evening.
