Appeal after train window ‘smashed with cricket bat’ at Broadstairs station

Police are appealing for witnesses after a train window was allegedly smashed by a yob with a cricket bat.

The incident happened at Broadstairs station at about 4.40pm yesterday.

It is believed that a person on the platform used the bat to damage the carriage doors.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers received reports of a train carriage door being damaged at Broadstairs railway station at around 4.40pm yesterday.

“Enquiries into this incident are ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, quoting reference 387 of 03/01/2024.”
