Police cordon off Ellington Park miniature railway after body found at Ramsgate attraction

A man in his 40s has been found dead in a park in Ramsgate.

Detectives - who were alerted at 7am - have cordoned off a section of Ellington Park and set up a forensics tent.

The body was found near to the site's miniature railway.

Ambulance crews arrived along with police but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

A witness who saw the police activity said: "There were lots of police around, and a body has been taken away in a private ambulance.

"A woman walking her dogs is thought to have found the body early this morning.

"There were about four or five police cars and the coroner's vehicle turned up.

"They've cordoned off quite a large area, all around the miniature railway."

Police have confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
