Three arrests made but no injuries reported in Ramsgate firearms incident

Three men arrested in connection with a firearms incident in Ramsgate have been released on bail.

The men, aged 35, 22 and 19, were questioned following reports a firearm had been discharged inside a building in Victoria Road on Friday night.

The road was cordoned off and the police helicopter scrambled following the incident, though no one was injured.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Police were called to the scene at 6.32pm to reports a firearm had been discharged, believed to be inside a building.

"Armed officers established a cordon to ensure public safety and began enquiries. The helicopter assisted patrols with an area search.

"At around 10.15pm, three men were detained and are currently being conveyed to police custody. While enquiries continue at the scene, the road is now reopened. No injuries have been reported."

Investigations are continuing and the men have been bailed until October.
