Amid scenes of great excitement, dozens of people descended on the bandstand in Broadstairs after spotting Ant and Dec's secret sofa.

The Geordie duo place four sofas in locations around the UK as part of their Saturday Night Takeaway show on ITV.

One turned up at the bandstand on the clifftop overlooking the sea.

Anyone who sees it on the show then has an hour to get there for a chance to win a place in the audience at a future show.

Among them was June Philpott who tweeted: "Fab end to my daughter's 8th birthday. Found the secret sofa."

Broadstairs then went into a computer draw to determine whether its residents would win VIP tickets for the audience.

But it lost out to the town of Bangor in Northern Ireland.
