Diversity coming to Margate

In May, nearly 20 million people were glued to their television screens to see Diversity sweep to victory in Britain’s Got Talent.

Incorporating several genres of music from classical to hip-hop, their diverse eye-catching routines won the hearts of the nation and prompted Simon Cowell to describe them as “sheer and utter perfection”.

Prince Charles and Desmond Tutu, along with a host of celebrities, number amongst their many thousands of fans and admirers.

The good news for Thanet is that their UK tour's only Kent date is in Margate's Winter Gardens on Tuesday March 23.

Formed in 2007, in memory of a dear friend, the dance troupe consists of eleven members from East London and the Essex area. Ranging in age from 13-26, Diversity are really just one big family.

They are made up of three sets of brothers: Ashley and Jordan Banjo, Ian, Jamie and Matthew McNaughton, Sam and Mitchell Craske. Four of their best friends: Terry Smith, Ike Ezekwugo, Warren Russell and Perri Luc Kiely, make up the close knit group.

Since winning the show, they have appeared in some unlikely places - they are the only act ever to dance outside 10 Downing Street, at the request of the Prime Minister. Other career highlights include the Mobo Awards, the Pride of Britain Awards and the Royal Variety Performance.

Tickets are £18.50 plus service charge. Contact the venue box office, telephone 01843 296111.
