Heartache of girl, 10, from Margate after 'amazing' mum's sudden death

A fundraiser has been launched to help put a smile back on the face of a 10-year-old girl after her mother's shock death.

Lorna Williams, who lived in Margate, was found dead in bed on June 28, with her family still waiting to find out how she died.

Her niece-in-law Cloe Young says the 45-year-old had a heart of gold and her loved ones are devastated by the loss, particularly her daughter Summer.

Cloe said: "Summer's a very strong little girl and coping really well, but it's taking a lot of distraction to try to help her cope.

"Her mum was her absolute world - she was amazing.

"If you asked her who her favourite person is, she will say her mum."

The family is raising funds to pay for treats and days out for the youngster to help her smile again, with some of the money also going towards the funeral.

"We want to make the next few months as easy as possible for Summer," said Cloe.

"We want to cheer her up and give her as many distractions as possible.

"I can't comprehend what it must be like for her to have lost her mum at 10 and in such a sudden way."

Cloe says Lorna was outgoing, loud and crazy, but with the kindest heart.

"We're not coping well," she admitted.

"We want to make the next few months as easy as possible for Summer..."

"Lorna was the glue that held the family together and a huge piece of our heart has now gone.

"It was completely out of the blue. The autopsy has been done but a cause of death hasn't been found.

"I have no words to explain how we feel right now."

Caroline Williams, Lorna's sister, says the family had not heard from her for a few days and when they went to check on her she was found dead in bed.

"It is a huge shock to the family," she said.

"Summer had been living with me for a couple of weeks because Lorna's mental health hadn't been great, but she normally lived with her mum so she's finding it hard."
