A moped reportedly crashed on Ramsgate High Street, causing police to close a section of the road.

Witnesses reported there were two ambulances and a police at the scene.

It happened at around 6pm.

Police reportedly closed the High Street from Chatham Street to the entrance to Ramsgate Sports Centre.

Local resident Dan Whitehead posted on Facebook: "Bike accident just outside my home.

"Ambulance and fire brigade in attendance and High St closed from Chatham St to entrance to Leisure Centre. Hopefully all involved are okay."
