A couple who submitted children to appalling abuse have been found guilty of child neglect.

In a case described by a paediatrician as the worst he'd seen in 30 years, the pair were even said to have bitten the youngsters' private parts.

Kristina Davies, 19, and 23-year-old Ricky Winter, both of Canterbury Road, Margate, were found guilty by a Canterbury jury of eight counts of child neglect.

These happened in July last year when the pair were looking after two boys under the age of four.

The children's injuries included fractured bones, bruises and bites. They were also forced to stand in a corner with their hands on their heads for long periods of time. Davies and Winter at times screamed in their faces, the court heard.

The pair will be sentenced at Canterbury Crown Court at the beginning of September.
