Probe launched into Ramsgate High Street Post Office raid

A burglar smashed through a door and stole cigarettes during a raid of a town centre Post Office.

The incident at the Ramsgate High Street shop took place in the early hours of this morning.

A man is reported to have damaged the premises' front door before stealing a quantity of cigarettes inside.

A police spokesman said: "Officers attended and are carrying out enquiries to identify the person responsible, including a review of CCTV footage."

He is calling for anyone with information to call 01843 222289, quoting the reference number 46/66938/20, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
