Six fire engines called to Broadstairs College in Ramsgate Road to battle blaze

Fire crews battled a blaze that broke out inside a college workshop on the Kent coast.

Emergency services were called to Broadstairs College in Ramsgate Road shortly before 11am today.

Six fire engines were sent to the scene, as investigators attempt to establish the cause.

A fire service spokesman said: "Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze.

"No casualties have been reported, and the cause has not yet been established."

Bosses from the East Kent College Group, which runs the site, confirmed everyone was safely evacuated from the building.

The blaze was out by lunchtime.
