Woman falls to her death from building in Margate High Street

A woman has died after falling from a building in Margate town centre.

It happened in an alleyway off the High Street.

Police and paramedics attended the scene and Bilton Square was closed off at around 12.30pm yesterday.

The victim was taken to hospital but later died.

She has since been named as art gallery owner Lana Vanzetta.

Officers remained at the scene until around 4pm continuing their inquiries.

A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called at 12.30pm on Monday, July 27 following a report that a woman had fallen from a building in High Street, Margate.

"Officers attended along with South East Coast Ambulance Service and a woman was taken to local hospital and later died."

A report into the death is now being prepared for the coroner. It is not being treated as suspicious.
