DETECTIVES investigating the £53million Securitas raid at Tonbridge were today questioning two men on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery.

Early this morning an 18-year-old man was arrested in Tunbridge Wells and a 27-year-old man was arrested at Crowborough in East Sussex. Both are being interviewed at Tonbridge Police Station.

A third man, aged 19, from Ilford, Essex, was also being interviewed at Tonbridge under caution.

Today’s arrests bring the total number to 25. Five people have already been charged in connection with the robbery, on 22 February.

Meanwhile, detectives are investigating whether there is a link between £38,000 found in south east London and the Securitas robbery. Police say the cash was recovered from an empty building in Thamesmead.

Three women were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen property, interviewed and released on police bail.

Forensic experts have so far examined more than 6,000 exhibits in connection with the robbery in February.
