Festival Theatre returns to grounds of Hever Castle this summer

Following a successful stint last year, an outdoor stage in the grounds of Hever Castle will play host to a theatre festival this summer.

Festival Theatre's summer season is in its 33rd year, and as 2014 attracted the largest crowds yet, this year is sure to be a hit.

The event will commence on May 23, when musical performances and entertainment suitable for the whole family will run for a week, before returning in early July for over a month.

Festival favourites Kent Rep, award-winning theatre company Illyria, and The Brandenburg Sinfonia are set to entertain audiences at the festival.

They will be joined by musical guests to cater to all tastes, from an Elvis tribute band to The Magic of Motown, and Barbara Streisand to the Ronnie Scott's All Stars.

Activities for younger audiences include magic, animal fun and performances which are suitable for all ages.

In July and August there is a full programme of plays, musical entertainment, family shows, opera, comedy, jazz and a week of cinema under the stars.
