Pedestrian struck by car airlifted to hospital

A MAN is in hospital after being hit by a car in a Kent town.

The incident happened at Quarry Hill Road, Tonbridge just before noon on Saturday.

The pedestrian - who is in his 50s and from Southborough, near Tunbridge Wells - was in collision with a blue Ford Escort.

He was taken to a London hospital by air ambulance suffering from head injuries.

A police spokesman described the man's condition as "stable" on Monday afternoon.
