Hayley Clements of Martin Hardie Way, Tonbridge jailed after assaulting a man and stealing alcohol

A Tonbridge woman has been sent to jail for 180 days after pleading guilty to assault and shoplifting.

Hayley Clements pleaded guilty at Medway Magistrates' Court in Chatham on November 24.

Between 3 and 4 November 2014 the 26-year-old, of Martin Hardie Way, Tonbridge, assaulted a man in Knight Road, Tonbridge.

On 9 November 2014 she stole alcohol worth £18.73 from a shop in Martin Hardie Way.

Magistrates sentenced Clements to 60 days in prison. Because the offences were committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence the overall length of sentence has been increased to 180 days.

She must also pay £80 in compensation.
