Tonbridge v Margate

Third-place Tonbridge face send from bottom Margate in a Ryman League Premier Division Kent derby at Longmead on Saturday.

With second placed Staines having four games in hand, Warrilow is keen for the side to maintain winning momentum following Saturday’s 5-1 success at Heybridge.

“They might be bottom of the table but you can only beat what’s in front of you,” said Warrilow who hopes to name an unchanged side on Saturday.

Margate breathed fresh life into their ailing relegation battle with a 2-0 win over Ashford Town (Middlesex)last Saturday.

It end a run of four straight defeats – during which the Gate had failed to score a single goal.

Manager Terry Yorath has been boosted by the news that Bristol Rovers have agreed to extend Liam Harwood’s loan period by a further two months, which means he will be available for the Tonbridge game.

Meanwhile, Warrilow wants Monday’s closure of the January transfer window to pass without the loss of key defender Leon Legge.

Though the club have made public losses of £1,000 a week and would welcome the fee, Warrilow’s priority is keeping together a squad strongly in play-off contention.

“There is no doubt we could do with the money, like all clubs at our level, but I want to keep Leon here because he is an important part of what we’re attempting to achieve at Tonbridge,” said Warrilow.
