Drug dealer from Tunbridge Wells pleads guilty after cocaine found behind steering column in Seat Ibiza

A dealer was arrested after a search of his car revealed 12 wraps of cocaine hidden in a sock behind the steering column.

Officers found the drugs in a Seat Ibiza they pulled over in London Road, Southborough near Tunbridge Wells last Thursday after it was suspected to be used in the supply of drugs.

After speaking to the driver, Dionysi Vata they began searching the car under the Misuse of Drugs Act where they found the Class A substance in the concealed area.

Vata was arrested and police seized a mobile phone and £400 in cash.

A search of his home in Grove Hill, Tunbridge Wells found a further £1,700.

The 20-year-old was charged with possession of cocaine with intent to supply and possession of criminal property.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday where he pleaded guilty to both charges.

Vata was remanded in custody and will next appear at Maidstone Crown Court to be sentenced on a date to be confirmed.
