Two treated after fire at house in Granville Road, Tunbridge Wells

The fire service is urging drivers be more considerate after parked cars delayed their attempts to tackle a house blaze.

Two crews were called to Granville Road, Tunbridge Wells, just before 11pm to reports an item had caught fire after being left too close to an electric hob.

However, engines were unable to get close to the property due to the narrow gap between parked cars in the road and officers had to connect four lengths of hose to reach the house.

An electrical safety engineer and paramedics also attended and a man and a woman were given oxygen therapy before being handed into the care of the ambulance service.

Crews left the scene shortly after 1am.
