Great places to enjoy an ice cream in Kent: Solley's Calf Shed Farm Shop, at Ripple, near Deal

For a real taste of summer - and Kent- get along to the Calf Shed Farm Shop, at Ripple, near Deal, and enjoy Solley’s Kentish Ice Cream.

The outlet which opened last year is designed to showcase the best produce the county has to offer – including a wide range of Solley’s award-winning dairy ice cream.

Keith Morrison, general manager of Solley’s, said: “We care deeply about provenance and quality, and this project show off lots of delicious produce from across the county, but encourages more visitors to our beautiful corner of Kent.”

Hot chocolate, wild strawberry and cream, iced coffee, toffee and butterscotch and Kentish honey and honeycomb are just some of the ice cream flavours on offer. They come in 500ml, one litre and 4.75-litre Napoli packs, with selected flavours also available in 120ml cups.

Customers can also purchase a host of frozen and fresh produce sourced from local suppliers.
There is also fresh bread, fruit and vegetables, locally-produced jams and chutneys, freshly roasted coffee and eggs from the farm’s own hens.

Campers Corner has been devised especially for holiday makers staying at the Camping and & Caravanning Club accredited site.

Keith added: “We’re also providing a service for local residents, as Ripple didn’t have any sort of village shop before we opened the Calf Shed.”

The Calf Shed is located in a converted outbuilding on the family farm in Church Lane, Ripple. It is open seven days a week: 9am to 4pm on Monday to Saturday and 10am to 2pm on Sunday.
