Kent Push the Boat Out venues with the Royal Yachting Association

Feel like pushing the boat out this weekend?

The Royal Yachting Association’s annual Push the Boat Out campaign to give people a taste of sailing, comes to a waterway near you this weekend.

The have-a-go campaign started last weekend, with clubs around the county enticing beginners to try the pastime out, and runs until Sunday, May 21.

Medway Yacht Club will be making a splash on Saturday, May 20 from 9.30am to 3pm, for ages seven and over.

Bewl Sailing Association, based at Bewl Water, Lamberhurst, will be holding its day between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, May 20.

Erith Yacht Club will hold its day on Saturday, May 20 between 11am and 5pm, with yachting and other skills to try out. There is no upper age limit, although a lower age limit of around five is recommended.

Cinque Ports Sailing Club at Dover Marina will open on Sunday, May 21 between 10am and 4pm. Children need to be accompanied.

The RYA event offers the chance to try sailing for free or at a low cost, with places needing to be pre-booked.
